Some conjunctions don't change word order: en (and), maar (but), of (or), want (because), dus (so).
want vs omdat
Both mean "because", but:
- Ik blijf thuis, want ik ben ziek. — normal word order
- Ik blijf thuis, omdat ik ziek ben. — verb to the end
Want can never start a sentence. Omdat can: Omdat ik ziek ben, blijf ik thuis.
dus
Dus can be followed by normal order or inversion: Het regent, dus ik neem de bus. / Het regent, dus neem ik de bus. Both are fine.
Adverbial linkers (cause inversion)
daarom (that's why), toch (still, anyway), daarna (after that), bovendien (moreover), anders (otherwise): Ik was moe. Daarom ging ik vroeg naar bed.
